Miranda Jones is a forty four years old woman, an example of a lonely and unhappy person who lives in megapolis with millions of people and she almost had no friends. Her only friend is Natalie. But Natalie is marriage and has two children and dog Martin, so she has no time to her best friend Miranda. Miranda works in publishing house, she is an editor. She doesn't like weekends and hates all holidays, including Christmas, because these days she feels loneliness as strong as it only possible. She forgot what does it mean to have a family and to be merry and how it is pleasant to get and make presents to your close people. Every Christmas she bakes strawberries cake, takes a little fake tree and a bottle of vine and goes to a hospital. Almost four years Miranda's mother is in the hospital. She is ill. All the time she lies in bed - she has never stood up - she can't speak and hardly can understand what is going on around her. So, every Christmas Miranda is near with her sick mother. She drinks a glass of vine and in silent spends there the whole night. This year wasn't an exception. She woke up early in the morning, called to Natalie for congratulating, baked the cake and set off to the hospital. In the street she has met some strange woman. She came up to Miranda handled a little and rather pretty figure of angel and said that this time everything would be different and that she finally would meet her happiness. Miranda's happiness was Doctor Gilbert, her mother's doctor. But because of her suffering from loneliness she didn't mentioned that he was fallen in love with her, but he was embarrassed to make the first step. But that woman was right. He finally plucked up courage asked Miranda for a date and offered to celebrate the holiday together and that time everything was different.
